Sudoku

Is it possible.. ?! Could we actually make a fully functioning working Sudoku.. in Excel, or LibreOffice, or Google Sheets? Nah.. cannot be done.. that is too hard. And spreadsheets couldn't generate random yet valid Sudoku puzzles, right? They should be all different. And how about validating.. that algorithm is recursive and spreadsheets don't support that functionality. Also they should need to have a different colour and font for the setup numbers..   Like bold? And another for the user's number..   Good idea! And maybe.. help us if we make a mistake..   Make sense.. Oh.. and it would be wonderful to have clues about the numbers still to be placed.. if we wanted to.. that would be just great !   Now we are talking buddy !!! You guessed right. Sudoku now fully functional for download in the Downloads page .

Japanese Nonogram is here !!!

Finally, it's here !

This is a logic game. In this game there is a hidden picture which you can be decipher using the numbers provided on each row and column. Your mission: To discover that picture.

I have just uploaded the first game that I completed in a spreadsheet, available in the Downloads page.

According with Wikipedia the game is also known by many other names: Window Art Puzzles, Hanjie, Griddlers, Picross, Pic-a-Pix, Crucipixel, Pixel Puzzles, PrismaPixels, Paint by Numbers, Japanese Puzzles, Japanese Crosswords, Paint Logic, Logicolor, Logic Square, Logic Art, Picture Logic, etc.

There are many levels, and multiple settings you can adjust:

The most complex levels have multiple colours (first levels are black & white):

Since the game first appeared in a Japanese magazine, I used a very famous picture from Japan for the colour palette in the theme of the game. That is another challenge for you, guess which is the original picture.

The game is available in the Downloads page.

Technical notes:

There are very interesting formulas to make the game work. Some of them use Regular expressions, reason why this game is only supported in LibreOffice.
